ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN
Building upon his 20-year career as professional interior designer, R. Lyle Boatman, ASID, is currently enrolled in the 5-year Bachelor of Architecture program at NewSchool of Architecture & Design. Boatman Design works in conjunction with colleagues who are registered architects or structural engineers to provide you with assistance with visualization drawings. As a team player, Boatman Design has facilitated many projects; speaking the language of architects, builders, and sub-contractors. The Fisk Lake project (see Architectural Portfolio / Fisk Lake) shows the results of this leadership. This very successful project was a team-effort involving a Michigan based architect-of-record, a separate contractor, and a design savvy client.

Existing Homes and New Construction
Boatman Design provides exceptional attention to detail in inventing sharp new contemporary kitchens, luxurious spa-like baths, and other creative custom furnishings and details. When building new, or when remodeling an existing home, Boatman Design will be your partner, offering the expertise that more than two decades of custom design and construction experience provide.

Commercial Projects
Working with Boatman Design on private residences, many clients have expanded the relationship to include their workplaces. Significant projects include plastic surgery group offices, treatment rooms, and reception areas, orthopedic surgeon's group offices, conference, and employee break areas, a financial services firm, and high-style fashion retailing.

Sustainability
All buildings-of-quality built today will exist long past the end of affordable fossil fuels. It follows that every building built, going forward, will probably lose value if not engineered and designed to accommodate sustainable energy use. This may mean subtle changes in design and construction today that will long provide benefits. To not consider this fact in your design and construction process is simply shortsighted.
